Both MIKE NESS solo albums are completely sold out (thats for the vinyl!). As far as i know theres a bootleg of the 2nd solo LP floating around as well as a bootleg LP for the WOODSTOCK show. All the others are SxDx bootlegs. So your best bet really is Ebay if your shooting for originals. Hope this helps...

i got my pressing of cheating at solitaire at black hole records in fullerton before i moved to san francisco. id avoid that place at all costs though. the owner, bill is a fucking dip shit. his whole business is a big shady scam. id been going there since early high school and he still isnt ashamed to be ripping off his best customers.

not to mention all he does is talk shit about mike ness and talk about what an idiot he is.

Thats interesting to hear that. Bill is a nut and talks forever, but for the past 10 years I have gone in there Bill has never said a bad word about Mike or the band to me. Find it strange that Mike would sign so many pix that hang on Bill's walls there and him talk crap. Im not saying he never did that, I just find it odd. But yes, Bill is weird.

the thing that really chaped my hide is when i got there before he opened up shop on the day sex, love, & rock n roll came out and i bought the cd & the vinyl and i ask him for my 'fullerton city limits' dvd and then he told me that he couldnt give it to me because he was saving them so he could sell them later. fuck that guy. that was the icing on the cake for me.

its funny that people are talking about Bill on here... i never realized how many people went into that store. i bumped into it one day while i was running, and went back later only to find that it's like the SxDx capital.

he did the same to me for the DVD (that's why i was asking for it a few months back), and i went in there back in July and saw that he was selling them for $40 each! i couldn't believe it. altho he showed me some pictures of Ness in front of the store years ago, and said that Ness was a roadie in his band. he also said that Ness would bring stuff in and sell it to Bill so that he could pay for drugs (this was back in the 80's). i lost respect for him there--aiding someone in drug money is not a good idea.

it is the place to go for rare sxdx stuff though...he's got tons of stuff. but i hear that there's a place in costa mesa near OCC that has a lot of the same stuff but half the price.

Bill also was doggin on Ness about his relationship with Maurer, but also a few things like where he lived. says he went from Santa Ana, to Orange, to Tustin, now to Irvine where he has his own private ranch house or something. (i find it hard to believe though, b/c Ness said at the show in Pomona that his place didn't have AC. how can a rock star living in Irvine not have AC?) not that it really matters or anything, i'm just relaying information. altho i will probably pick up the social d license plate frame at black hole records in a few weeks though.

i dont think its too hard to believe that Mike bought a house in Irvine. the dude has money. i know he's pretty into real estate, moving from house to house after he fixes them up. i have heard him talk about how much he hates irvine though. so who knows. bill is full of shit most of the time anyway. his stories are all stale. ive heard him tell all of what you just said, actually. someone should just punch him in the grill.

Well, Bill is part right on a few places he lives/lived. I think Bill is just jealous because his career is standing behind a counter wearing sunglasses reliving the glory days.
